farm birthdays

..........
It was my birthday last week, and I spent the day swimming in the St. Croix and cooking cheese burgers at the Philadelphia Farm.  It was a beautiful, warm day, but it was bittersweet knowing it was one of the last of the season.

This weekend the choir ladies went down to the Quad Cities to do a recording at Daytrotter and perform at one of their Barnstormers.  The session went well, and I'll be sure to link to it when it posts on the Daytrotter site.

On the way down we stopped to see our friends at Turnip Rock Farm.  Josh and Rama started the farm a few years ago and have a thriving CSA, and a beautiful baby.  It had been Rama's birthday too, so we made a special dinner of farm-raised pork chops, beets and kale, and sang a song for her.  Oh, and Emily's baby Caliope got to visit her farmer boyfriend.  I want to go back right now..........
